This portrait was launched on January 13, 2021, the day of the futile attempt at a second impeachment. In an effort to honor one who served our country beyond all I had hoped for, I proceeded to draw him in the Oval Office where he gained the respect of world leaders and those who put him there. I have rarely witnessed seemingly impossible promises fulfilled so well by a president.
After four plus years of assaults from fraudulent sources, I painted him with a rare smile and a typical hand gesture, flanked by the flag he loves and the flag he deserves. The framed photos are presumably his parents, placed on the carved and marble-topped table from the Mar-a Lago’s foyer, a touch of his home.
I cannot paint a person I do not respect. President Trump has gained both my full respect and appreciation. I still believe I have the freedom to say so!
