new background a couple of days in

I spent the last couple of days working long hours on the new background for this portrait, and I am pleased with the way it is coming along. Although these small flowers are far more complex to paint than the dark red ones I had been using, they are also lighter and fresher while not distracting from the beauty of the subjects.
