Harmony in Eden was the second portrait I painted that featured Kara. The viewer enjoys the flit of a grosbeak, the stateliness of the banana palms, and my wife and grandson in the background. She points to the koi fish in the rippling pond as my favorite flower, irises, adorn either side of Kara’s face. Is this not poetry? Perhaps Kara’s experience as the subject of two portraits led her to select art as her major at Baldwin-Wallace University.
