Allow me to take this opportunity to answer the question: "Why bother with an oil portrait in the age of cell phone cameras?"

1. Few people are ever painted so it's a rare honor to have one's portrait done, a form of love, admiration, and respect.

2. An oil painting, if done properly, will last for centuries without fading or deteriorating when respected and cared for.

3. A portrait will warm the environment in which it hangs.

4. A portrait visually captures a special time in the person's life and holds it for all the following generations to appreciate.

5. Cell phone images present convenience without the need for a professional photographer. Unfortunately, these images are distorted, fade, and are pixelated to the point that enlargements resemble a mosaic.

6. My home is a gallery of these paintings. They warm our environment daily. This is my heart, which has driven 62 years of my appreciation of those I've had the honor and privilege to paint.

The Love of Christ to you all!
